The tax authorities throughout the world are moving forwards towards electronic tax compliance, the aim of improving the control processes related to tax, simplification of processes and automation of supervisory processes.
In Europe a number of national systems already up and running make it compulsory for companies to submit VAT data on a regular basis and receive notifications on their tax transaction status. It therefore ends up entailing a constant flow of tax documents in which the legal custody of archives is an important part.
